NCR names new head of digital banking

NCR Corp. has named Douglas Brown general manager for digital banking in the company’s banking business unit.

According to a company press release, Brown was most recently at FIS, where he was head of digital and mobile for the North American banking division. Previously, he was senior vice president of mobile banking at Bank of America.

"[W]e see digital banking as a huge opportunity for NCR and Doug is the best person in the industry to accelerate that growth," NCR Banking President Frank D’Angelo said in the release.

NCR digital banking solutions are built on an open platform. Over the next year, NCR will open the platform further by offering a greater number of APIs and enhanced developer tools inside a new Developer Portal.

A report last month in Magnify Money named the top 10 mobile banking apps in the United States. NCR digital banking solutions powered half of the top 10 and three of the top five. 

"Our opportunity is incredible," Brown said. "We’ve got the best product on the market and we’re making it better in 2019."
