LONDON - Moneybox Corp. will install 1,250 ATMs provided by NCR Corp. at convenience stores, leisure centers, gas stations, pubs and nightclubs in England. The new ATMs will join approximately 1,000 already placed by Moneybox.
Moneybox, which operates the largest independent network of ATMs in the United Kingdom, began its strategic placement of ATMs in convenience locations since 1999. In a news release, Moneybox managing director Paul Stanley said demand is soaring for convenience ATMs in the UK.
NCR, which supplies hardware and software, software support and maintenance for the Moneybox ATMs, said that the number of installed ATMs in the UK grew to 3,000 in 2000, and that NCR expects other European countries to follow UK's lead.
Terms of the deal weren't disclosed, but the release termed the pact "a multi-million dollar agreement."
