NCR Corp. and the government of Serbia have signed an agreement under which NCR will increase its operations and employee count in the European Union candidate state.
According to a report by the Budapest Business Journal, a pact signed by Serbian Finance and Economy Minister Mladjan Dinkic and NCR VP Michael O'Laughlin will result in the investment of €2.6 million ($3.34 million) by NCR in its Serbian operations.
The agreement will effectively double NCR's presence in the central European country. Last year, the company opened a service center in Belgrade that employs 300. The new commitment promises another 300 jobs.
It is believed that NCR will recruit engineers from technical science schools. The article did not say when hiring was expected to begin.
