Nationwide, NCR elevate member service with new software, ATMs

New ATM and software solutions allow Nationwide Building Society to focus on next-gen online and mobile services that meet member needs, NCR says.

NCR Corp. recently announced its collaboration with the U.K.'s Nationwide Building Society on a project to deliver branch transformation as well as an improved member banking experience across digital channels.

As part of its five-year, 500-branch refurbishment effort, Nationwide adopted NCR CxBanking software earlier this year. As a follow-up, the FI now plans to add the multifunction NCR SelfServ 91 ATM to the existing suite of devices across its retail estate.

The design of NCR's SelfServ 91 ATMs will allow Nationwide to redefine the branch with an open plan that moves staff out from behind counters onto the branch floor where they are more readily available to speak to and advise customers.

The initial deployment of the ATM solution and associated branch redesign at a flagship branch near Swindon was completed in September. Five additional London flagship branches will be refurbished later this year.

"Digitally enabled services and simplified processes will allow our members to choose when, where and how they wish to engage with us," said Barnaby Davis, divisional director for group retail strategy at Nationwide.

NCR CxBanking software solutions will help Nationwide to reduce the time and cost to market for new banking services as they are delivered across all channels, including the new ATMs, and will enable Nationwide to provide more value to customers via its self-service solutions by leveraging existing Web services via ATM and other self-service solutions.
