NCR Corp. has announced the launch of its APTRA Interactive Teller solution in the Middle East and Africa, starting with the Middle East. One of the region's largest banks, Emirates NBD of the United Arab Emirates, will be the first FI to offer the solution.
APTRA interactive teller will allow customers to complete up to 95 percent of banking services that can transacted at a teller window in a branch, NCR said in the announcement. The solution will allow Emirates NBD customers to receive teller assistance beyond usual banking hours and locations.
"The efficiency and security created through the centralization of tellers enables banks to transform their branch locations into more effective service and sales environments," said Habib Hanna, NCR managing director for the South Gulf and Pakistan region. "APTRA Interactive Teller lets banks offer access to teller services during non-traditional banking hours and provide full teller services in areas not traditionally served by their branches, giving them direct operational efficiency and productivity returns from day one."
Hanna said he expects that our first implementations will go live within the next few months.
"Emirates NBD is continuously investing in innovative banking technologies," said Suvo Sarkar, general manager of retail banking at Emirates NBD. "We are delighted to become the first bank in the region to embrace the future of assisted service banking technologies."
