Chinese vendor MultiDimension Technology Co. Ltd., a supplier of magnetic sensors featuring tunneling magnetoresistance technology, has announced the launch of its MMGB01, MMGB06, MMGB18 TMR magnetic pattern recognition sensors. A news release from MDT said that these are the world's first TMR magnetic sensors for detecting magnetic properties on banknotes in financial anti-counterfeit appliances — including banknote validators, banknote counters and sorters, and magnetic card readers.
The new sensors feature high sensitivity and high signal-to-noise ratio for detecting weak magnetic signals, using the customized TMR magnetic sensors and a bias magnet. The robust mechanical design realizes a miniaturized, durable and light-weight sensor module that is compatible with existing products on the market.
The MMGB01 series includes a few products with single-channel detection capability; MMGB06 and MMGB18 are series are 6- and 18-channel sensors that can read multiple signals in parallel.
"MDT's new TMR magnetic sensors are the first products using TMR technology on the financial anti-counterfeit appliances market, and they bring many unique benefits of TMR technology to our customers with high-sensitivity and high-resolution magnetic signal detection," said Dr. Song Xue chairman and CEO of MDT.
"MDT's TMR technology is fully capable of high-resolution magnetic image retrieval to meet the stringent requirements of the next-generation financial anti-counterfeit appliances. We are confident that our MDT can bring this enabling technology to the market, which has long been seeking a solution that cannot be accomplished by current technologies."
