Man gets second chance after life sentence for ATM scam
January 16, 2008
China.org: The Guangdong Supreme Court in China has thrown back a high-profile case in which a man received a life sentence for deliberately withdrawing nearly 175,000 yuan (U.S. $23,000) from a malfunctioning ATM. The Guangdong Supreme People's Court revoked the life sentence and other charges by the city's intermediate court because the case was "ambiguous and lacked evidence."
