Russian investigators have arrested the man who allegedly masterminded the globally coordinated ATM heist of $9.5 million from Atlanta-based card processing company RBS WorldPay,according to Wired magazine.
Viktor Pleshchuk, 28, of St. Petersburg, was arrested by the Russian Federal Security Service for the ATM hack involving reverse-engineered PINs for payroll debit card accounts and payroll cashers, simultaneously hitting more than 2,000 ATMs and stealing nearly $10 million in less than 12 hours.
