Maltese bank embarks on €1.5 million ATM upgrade

May 29, 2012

Malta's Bank of Valetta will invest €1.5 million ($1.9 million) in upgrading its ATM network with "next-generation" terminals at its 15 branches.

An article at Malta Today said the upgrade was part of an overall program to improve customer convenience, security and privacy.

"Many of our ATMs already offer our customers an extensive range of banking services including the facility to deposit cash into their accounts in real time - a service which is unique to Bank of Valletta," said Michael Galea, COO at Bank of Valletta. "Customers may also pay their bills, deposit checks — for same day processing if deposited within office hours — and top up mobile phones using our ATMs. The new ATMs and ATM lobbies form part of the Bank's ongoing strategy to offer a more efficient and convenient customer experience."
