Loktec, Mactwin partnership offers new anti-gas security solution for UK ATMs

U.K.-based Loktec ATM Security Solutions recently signed a business partner agreement with Netherlands-based Mactwin Security Specials to be the U.K. distributor of the Mactwin gas protection unit. Confirming the need for such protection against a rising number of gas attacks on ATMs, several banks have already signed on for the solution, Loktec said in a news release.

"Mactwin's GPU ... has been specifically developed to combat the threat of ATM gas attacks, Loktec managing director David Hardy said. "GPU prevents combustible gas from exploding, thus making a gas attack completely futile. Moreover, it minimizes risks for the people nearby and damage to the ATM and surrounding buildings."

The Mactwin GPU includes a module with multiple gas sensors that immediately detect any explosive gas or oxygen, upon which the intelligent controller activates the unique GPU detection module and other integrated security products such as sound and light barriers to frustrate the criminal. The GPU protection unit renders the combustible gas ineffective indefinitely, Loktec said.
