KicTeam launches new cleaning card for EMV devices

The company says its Smart Cleaning Card is longer, stronger and equipped with 'Waffletechnology' for effective cleaning of critical card reader components.

KicTeam Inc., a provider of cleaning products for electronic devices, has announced the launch of its Smart Cleaning Card designed specifically for use with EMV chip card technology.

Keeping chip-reading equipment clean is critical for improving transaction completion rates and reducing misreads, manual data entry and fraud potential, the company said in a press release.

The Smart Cleaning Card's longer format and stronger, custom-engineered material allow it to reach more of the device interior; its unique "Waffletechnology" conforms to critical chip reader surface areas for thorough cleaning, the company said.

The single-use disposable card has proven equally effective for swipe and friction heads and landings in all card reader devices, including those in ATMs and self-serve kiosks, the according to the release.

KicTeam listed benefits of the card that include:

• ready-to-use, presaturated with an exact measure of cleaning solution to safely dissolve dirt and contaminants;
• easier to use and more effective than multiple-use dry cards;
• packaged in single-use pouches that eliminate the possibility of cross contamination between devices.

"KicTeam's Smart Cleaning Card featuring Waffletechnology is the gold standard for all chip-and-PIN or EMV devices," said VP of operations John Condon. "It is the ideal product designed to keep payment and transaction terminals operating at optimal levels. We've spent months on design and testing to ensure the best clean possible."

The Smart Cleaning Card is currently available in the U.S. and will launch in Canada and Europe within the next 60 days, the release said.
