JBM releases dial-tone emulator for wireless
October 31, 2007
ST. LOUIS - JBM Electronics has announced the release of the Gateway C201 Router with dial-tone emulation.
According to a news release, the C201 integrates with ATMs, meters or other devices that communicate via dial modem.
The C201 features a protocol-conversion engine that takes dial-modem data and converts it to packet-based TCP/IP for routing over a cellular network. The C201 has an integrated cellular radio that allows customers to deploy single-box solutions with robust management capability.
"There is a tremendous amount of dial modem installations across multiple verticals, such as utility, finance and point of sale that can take advantage of cellular connectivity," said Steven Mintz, JBM's president and chief executive. "The C201 is the leading single-box solution designed for these environments, saving customers from the complexities of having to implement a two-box solution with the cellular modem and then a protocol converter."
ATM Express Inc. exclusively uses the JBM product and has more 1,000 units deployed.
The C201 has been certified with Verizon Wireless, AT&T Mobility (formerly Cingular), Sprint and Alltel.
