February 15, 2007
ORLANDO, Fla. - J &B Software Inc, provider of enterprise-wide payment system and integration services, has signed a deal with Cheq Information Technology Inc., provider of end-to-end check-image processing solutions, to add document capture capabilities to J&B's remote image capture solution.
According to a news release, the new capability will allow wholesale and retail lockbox providers, as well as their corporate clients, capture payments accompanied by full-page invoices and customer correspondence at the point of entry.
"After an extensive evaluation process, the Cheq-IT Vermezzo System was selected because of its superior MICR (magnetic ink character recognition) read rate, image quality and document handling," said Tom Benedetto, director of industry solutions for J&B Software. "The addition of the Cheq-IT Vermezzo System … provides transaction integrity - capturing full-page correspondence and payment data, and maintaining all payment information together in one transaction for research and archiving."
The J&B NDM solution comprises small networked deposit machines and an open-standard-based NDM server, which is typically located at a server site. NDM clients are placed in each remote location to automate check processing by capturing images and data with immediate truncation of paper.
NDM is built with an open architecture based on industry-standard server, network and operating-system components. With seamless interfaces to item-processing systems from J&B and others, it also supplies reports for cash management and real-time information feeds.
