India residents to pay taxes via ATM

(New Delhi, India) Business Standard: The Income Tax Department in India is planning to allow tax payment through ATMs, set up call centers to deal with queries, and automatically update the address for permanent account numbers by copying numbers from the tax returns that are filed. The department will also set up a Directorate of Taxpayer Services to address taxpayer grievances and educate users about tax matters.
