According to a report yesterday at 4-traders.com, GRG Banking recently won its first China Design Award (the Kapok Prize) for the company’s ATM model H68N. The H68N was one of 76 entries out of more than 1100 to win the Kapok Prize, which is awarded based on value and scientific innovation, among other criteria.
The H68N, a new generation cash recycler, features a green design concept and environmentally friendly production. Design features include: a small footprint; customizable independent cash processing modules; ADA/DDA compliance and voice recognition, serial number tracking technology, ergonomic fascia, and a consumer awareness mirror and PIN Pad shield for added security. As the first ATM product awarded Kapok Prize, the machine "can be regarded as a symbol of cutting-edge design competency of Created-in-China", said an unidentified H68N designer.
The China Design Awards were presented on December 9, 2011, during Guangzhou Design Week. The event is the only one in China jointly endorsed and promoted worldwide by the International Council of Societies of Industrial Design (ICSID), the International Council of Graphic Design Associations (ICOGRADA) and the International Federation of Interior Architects/Designers (IFI).
