Global Payout bids to acquire prepaid-based mobile banking provider

Global Payout will purchase 100 percent of Maxie Mobile, a company that enables payments and ATM withdrawals from a prepaid mobile account.

Global Payout Inc. a provider of international e-payment solutions, has announced in a press release that it will acquire 100 percent of Maxie Mobile LLC, a mobile payments provider focused on those underserved by traditional banking services, both in the U.S. and globally.

Maxie Mobile users receive a virtual and prepaid debit card that gives them access to online and retail purchasing, as well as access to ATMs.

A free mobile payment app for smartphones allows users to pay bills, cash checks, top up prepaid phones, send money to 120 countries and make free long distance calls. The app is available for smartphone operating systems that include Android, Blackberry, iOS and Windows.

According to the release, the acquisition will complement and extend Global Payout's existing MoneyTrac consolidated payment gateway and international EMV debit card programs.

The acquisition is scheduled to close within the next 30 days.
