Global Axcess says ATMs weathered Ike

September 15, 2008

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Global Axcess Corp., an independent ATM-solutions provider (d.b.a. Nationwide Money Services), says business operations at its Jacksonville, Texas, call center and ATM-distribution center were restored early Monday morning. The company says the facility did not suffer any significant damage.

"Our employees, clients, vendors and ATM users are all very important to us and our thoughts and prayers are with them during this recovery period," said George McQuain, president and chief executive of GAXC.

According to a statement issued by GAXC, a small percentage of ATMs was affected over the weekend but were proactively brought back online once power was restored to the area.

"We have the procedures in place to keep business running through natural disasters and maintaining the high ATM uptime rate that our clients are accustomed to," said Heather Webb, vice president of operations for Nationwide Money Services. "When it became clear last week that the East Texas area would be impacted by Hurricane Ike, we implemented our plan and diverted all customer service functions to our Florida location."
