Georgia Power, TIO launch self-service automated billpay in Atlanta Best Buy stores

April 22, 2010

Georgia Power has partnered with TIO Networks Corp. and Best Buy to launch a self-service automated bill-payment program in select Best Buy locations in Greater Atlanta.

According to a news release from TIO, using self-service payment kiosks, Best Buy customers can navigate through billpay applications in English or Spanish and then apy their utility bills by inserting cash into self-serve kiosks.

The kiosks offer customers the option of making payments on weekends and after business hours when Georgia Power's local offices are closed.  All payments will be posted immediately to customer accounts. Customers will have the option to either print or forward receipts to e-mail addresses. Users pay a $2 fee per transaction.

"Georgia Power is always looking for ways to better serve its customers," said Georgia Power's vice president of customer services Gerald Johnson. "The new payment kiosks provide our customers a convenient way to pay their bills along with additional payment locations and expanded hours."

While making their Georgia Power bill payments, customers may use the kiosks to pay bills for other services such as cell phone, cable and satellite as well as payments to major and retail credit cards companies.
