CHICAGO -- Qualtex Corporation, a Chicago-based ATM manufacturer, says that Genpass, Inc. has certified the WeatherMaster ATM, Qualtex's second-generation through-the-wall machine, for processing on the Genpass network.
Midwest Bancard Corporation, a credit card processor, spun off its ATM business and renamed it Qualtex in January. (See related story Midwest Bancard spins off ATM business, intros new ATM)
The WeatherMaster is a more weather resistant version of Qualtex's MBC1031 ATM, which it began manufacturing in October of 2001. Like the MBC1031, the WeatherMaster features a rear screen and keypad for accessing management functions and a rear slide-out tray for the dispenser and printer.
The Weathermaster has a stainless-steel cabinet, measures 19-and-a-half-inches in width and has a dual-bracket mounting system to facilitate installation. Components include a De La Rue MiniMech dispenser, Fujitsu thermal graphic printer, Lagard electronic lock and a weatherized Kyocera color anti-glare LCD.
According to a news release, Qualtex has deployed hundreds of MBC1031 and Weathermaster units throughout the U.S. and Canada.
