G&D banknote processor offers high speed in a small package

December 8, 2017

G&D Currency Technology has expanded its portfolio of banknote processing systems with the new BPS C2, recipient of the German Design Award 2018 for Excellent Product Design.

Whether counting, sorting, authenticating, or reading serial numbers from banknotes, the device operates at a consistently high speed, with a throughput of 1,050 banknotes per minute, according to a press release.

The tabletop system also ensures that banknotes are sorted according to the highest standards of fitness for circulation, the company said.

The BPS C2 is ideal for high-use environments such as commercial banks, CIT companies and casinos, according to Wolfgang Kneilmann, head of the currency management solutions division and member of the management board at G+D Currency Technology.

"High throughput, improved usability and the ability to network with advanced tools and applications increase our customers' efficiency, and therefore their competitiveness," he said in the release. "The system's unrivaled ability to detect counterfeits, and to reliably and consistently sort according to fitness throughout the system's lifecycle, sets new benchmarks."
