First Data, TMG streamline EMV implementation for client FIs

Payments processing solutions provider First Data and payments processor The Members Group have introduced an expedited EMV implementation program for qualifying TMG clients.

The program's standardized processes help FIs launch their EMV programs with reduced complexity, a press release from the companies said.

To offer the process, a processor must meet eligibility requirements outlined by the card networks, including the prior successful completion of a U.S. chip issuing project. First Data has qualified with both Visa and MasterCard to offer its expedited EMV credit card issuance program to FIs.

Financial institutions qualify for the streamlined process if they choose the same personalization parameters and the same chip certified under the express program.

"[O]ur clients are now able to get EMV cards in market more quickly, which gives them a competitive edge with today's smart, tech-savvy consumer," said Brandon Kuehl, product manager at TMG.

First Data has supported EMV for more than a decade, and has been an approved EMV transaction processor since 1999.
