Fime expands functionality of Savvi 3.0 EMV Level 3 test tool

September 22, 2016

Fime has announced that Savvi 3.0, the company's EMV Level 3 test tool, is now available for the U.S. market with expanded testing functionality. According to a press release, the platform includes the market's most extensive range of international and domestic payment scheme qualifications.

A key new element of Savvi 3.0 is the Fime Card Emulator, a pocket-sized portable card emulator and reader that can capture card logs automatically and instantly upload them to the test platform, which automatically analyzes the results.

Time said that its Savvi 3.0 platform, in combination with consulting services, can address key areas of the U.S. migration to EMV, including:

  • EMV at the ATM — Savvi can be used with complex ATM card slots and all other terminal types "out of the box";
  • certification backlog — the solution can shorten implementation cycles, ensure that terminals will be certified to accept chip payments, and push EMV-enabled products to market more quickly;
  • faster EMV solutions — support for Quick Chip and M/Chip Fast testing accelerates EMV implementations from multiple payment brands and provide guidance for stakeholders interested in implementing these solutions; and
  • contactless EMV and mobile wallet payments — a comprehensive package for terminal system testing covers contactless EMV testing as well contact for precertification, regression and certification.

"Acquirers and merchants have a lot to consider when it comes to testing and certification," said Xavier Giandominici, Vice President for the Americas and financial services at Fime. "There's a growing number of payment system specifications that EMV testers must keep up with — Savvi delivers the support for this and automates it. Our EMV consultants report that Savvi 3.0 significantly speeds up test projects, so acquirers and merchants will now find precertification, regression testing and formal approval quicker and easier."
