FIME adds new features to SAVVI EMV terminal testing platform

SAVVI 2.0 introduces a simplified user interface, online test card maintenance capabilities, and programmable test cards.

October 31, 2014

Payments consultancy FIME has released SAVVI 2.0, an updated and streamlined version of its EMV terminal testing and certification management tool, the company said in a news release.

SAVVI 2.0 introduces a simplified user interface, online test card maintenance capabilities and programmable test cards to its test platform to allow for accelerated testing and certification of EMV terminals.

Features of SAVVI 2.0 include:

  • a streamlined user interface — provides an intuitive experience with step-by-step instructions through the testing process;
  • a choice of test media —allows testers to select the medium that best fits their needs – physical test card, programmable test card (built on the same payment application as physical test cards), or a combination of both; and
  • fast online test card maintenance —delivers test case updates electronically to SAVVI for fast access to the latest test cases. The test tool automatically compares the current version to updates available from FIME's online library so that testers know when an update is available.

"Testing and certifying terminals for each of the payment brands can be a complex and time-consuming project," said Xavier Giandominici, director of FIME America. "With SAVVI 2.0, we are removing complexities and improving testing times while ensuring the testing environment is always current with the latest requirements."

SAVVI 2.0 is currently available for MasterCard terminal testing; FIME said that certification with other major U.S. card brands will follow in the next few months. The company plans to release additional features for SAVVI in the coming months to further enhance EMV terminal integration certification, the release said.
