FedChoice FCU, a federal employees credit union serving nearly 25,000 members, has implemented QwikDeposit ToGo from Bluepoint Solutions for mobile remote deposit capture. A news release said that RDC facility will allow the Lanham, Delaware-based FI to better support both member access and the FCU's long-term growth strategy.
FedChoice Federal Credit Union launched the initiative to bring e-services to its membership base three years ago.
“Mobile RDC was a logical addition for us because our members wanted it,” said David Bunch, president and CEO of FedChoice. "That was the primary reason we wanted to include this functionality with our existing mobile banking app. We were already experiencing decreased foot traffic in our branches, so we wanted to provide members with a ‘branch in their pocket’ that they would be able to access on-the-go.”
Mobile banking is the centerpiece of a FedChoice delivery strategy that focuses on purely electronic banking via mobile phones, computers and tablets. This expanded digital footprint offers essential services, especially for Gen Y and younger consumers. “Our members have always been active with technology. They expected us to have mobile RDC, they were ready to use it, and we had downloads the first day it was in the app store,” said Ed Campbell, e-services manager at FedChoice.
