Evertec, NYCE expand U.S. POS access

SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico - Evertec Inc., the ATH Network's processing arm for Latin America and the Caribbean, has inked a deal with NYCE Payments Network LLC, a subsidiary of Metavante Corp., to allow purchases throughout the United States for holders of ATH debit cards issued in Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands.
According to a news release, the new service allows customers to use their ATH debit cards and PINs to pay for purchases at any U.S. merchant that accepts NYCE. With this service, the ATH Network is expected to generate more than 1 million annual transactions in the United States.
