European retailer signs with ACI for BASE24-eps

NEW YORK — ACI Worldwide Inc. has signed a European retailer, its 40th customer, to go live on BASE24-eps, ACI's software for online payments processing. Additionally, BASE24-eps is being used by five of the United Kingdom's banks involved in the Faster Payments initiative.
According to a news release, BASE24-eps, the next generation of ACI's flagship BASE24 product, is delivering agility, scalability and reliability to institutions of all sizes around the world, including ING and Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority, as well as other customers in the Americas, EMEA and Asia-Pacific, such as ABSA in South Africa.
BASE24-eps is a multiplatform solution that manages electronic payment devices, acquires transactions across many different channels and performs high-volume switching, routing and authorization services. The product delivers a single view of account activity and balances, and enables financial institutions to balance high customer expectations while achieving cost-reduction targets.
BASE24-eps is now deployed in productions systems handling both ATM and POS issuing and acquiring of private label and international card scheme traffic. Retailer, financial institution and processor systems are authorizing on-us transactions and switching not-on-us transactions out to the appropriate international card scheme or other domestic issuer systems.

BASE24-eps is built on open-systems technology to ensure it delivers maximum flexibility to customers, allowing them to tailor the system to meet their changing needs. It runs on IBM System z and System p, HP NonStop and Sun platforms.
