Euronet to add 700 new Diebold units

Diebold Inc. will provide Opteva cash-recycling units to the IAD's extensive European fleet, which currently totals more than 18,000 ATMs.

June 27, 2014

Euronet Worldwide has contracted with Diebold Inc. to add 700 new ATMs to the IAD's extensive European fleet. The new Opteva units will include cash dispensers with full cash-recycling capabilities, a Diebold news release said.

Diebold will also provide three years of maintenance and ATM channel management services to support the new terminals.

Leawood, Kan.-based Euronet currently operates a global network of 18,558 ATMs. Continued expansion in Europe led the company to select Diebold as a strategic partner supporting its self-service network expansion.

"Diebold's solutions and services are helping us quickly expand the capabilities and availability of our self-service channel," said Marek Szafirski, regional managing director of CEE for Euronet. "We're eager to implement the latest technology and evaluate its potential to reduce costs across our network while continuing to offer our customers with the highest ATM uptime."
