Ethiopia's largest FI taps NCR for ATM network monitoring

NCR Aptra Vision will provide a single, accurate view across the Commercial Bank of Ethiopia's multivendor ATM network to empower decision-making, NCR says.

Commercial Bank of Ethiopia, a global financial institution with $15 billion in assets, 965 branches and nearly 11 million accountholders, has implemented NCR Aptra Vision, a multivendor self-service management solution, across its network of 1,200 ATMs.

NCR Aptra Vision provides incident management and operational data combined with commercial and business data from a variety of other sources. In a press release, NCR Corp. said that its solution correlates data from individual ATMs to help the bank discover hidden relationships between different performance-influencing factors, make informed decisions, and set strategic planning goals.

NCR Aptra Vision reduces time-consuming site visits by enabling automatic, preemptive actions along with remote management and command functions, the company said.

"Upgrading our ATM management system to NCR Aptra Vision is a big step forward for us to achieve operational excellence, cost effectiveness and improved customer experiences," said Sosina Mengesha, director of e-payment at CBE. "In providing a single and standardized view of our growing ATM network, NCR Aptra Vision ... [allows] us to make timely decisions to ensure undisrupted services which are vital to improve customer satisfaction and business performance in a cost-effective manner."
