EMV experts to address ATM upgrade options at industry conference

An in-depth panel discussion at next week's ATMIA conference in New Orleans will focus on issues surrounding EMV migration for ATM deployers.

An in-depth panel discussion at next week's ATMIA conference in New Orleans will focus on the EMV migration for independent ATM deployers.

"The Daunting Cost of EMV Upgrades for IADs Solved" will feature prominent industry experts Stuart Mackinnon, president of Columbus Data Services; Jon Engleking, CFO of Super G Funding; and James Phillips, vice president of sales and marketing at Triton.

The session will cover EMV liability dates, the latest news from the card networks, migration planning and more, including:

• types of fraud processors have been seeing on the POS side;
• how the chargeback process will work after the ATM migration shift deadlines;
• observed patterns of FIs passing non-EMV fraud to merchants;
• the rationale for upgrading ATMs with low transaction volumes;
• tips for keeping deployer upgrade costs as low as possible; and
• options for EMV upgrade funding.

"The goal of this session is to address the growing number of concerns we are seeing from independent ATM deployers as we enter the final stretch before MasterCard's EMV compliance deadline," Phillips said in a news release. "We hope to provide insights and solutions to help ATM deployers approach EMV implementation with a successful plan and informed outlook."

The session, which is sponsored by Triton, will take place at 4:45 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 24, at the Hilton New Orleans Riverside, in Salon 19/22.
