Electronic Visa transactions generate $31 million for Ethiopian bank

Addis (Ethiopia) Fortune: Ethiopia's Dashen Bank generated close to $31 million last year from its Visa-card services, representing more than one fourth of what the country has earned from its exports of flowers during the same period.Visitors to Ethiopia can use their Visa cards to withdraw money from their overseas accounts, and many of those withdrawal transactions have already occurred at one of the 20 ATMs the bank has installed.
