DALLAS -- Fujitsu Transaction Solutions Series 8000 ATMs have been certified to operate on Electronic Data Systems Corp.'s (NYSE: EDS) EFT networks. EDS' Consumer Network Services unit, based in Morris Plains, N.J., manages more than 200 million ATM and debit transactions every month via approximately 14,000 ATMs.
EDS tested the Model 8040 through-the-wall ATM, evaluating its core cash-transaction functionality, its recovery from problems such as power failure and its new capabilities, including Fujitsu's text-to-speech technology.
In addition to EDS' network, Fujitsu Series 8000 ATMs have been certified to operate on the eFunds Corp., Metavante Corp., Midwest Payment Systems (MPS) and Genpass Inc. networks.
The 8000 Series ATMs are designed to operate offsite, in the lobby and through the wall. Fujitsu's Prism ATM software application is based on Microsoft Windows 2000 and Internet Explorer 6 to support both standard and Web transactions.
