Altier Credit Union has turned over management of its off-site ATMs, eliminating the need for staff to trek out to distant locations for machine servicing.

Altier Credit Union, a $175 million credit union headquartered in Tempe, Arizona, has entered an agreement with Dolphin Debit that will place the ATM service provider in charge of the FI's offsite ATMs.
Dolphin Debit will manage eight off-premises Altier ATMs that aren't adjacent to the five branches.
"These weren't high-volume machines, but they seemed to have high-volume problems," said Altier SVP and CFO David Skilton. "And because we were dealing with multiple vendors, it often meant we had to go out multiple times."
Now Altier staff deal only with ATMs at the CU's five branches, and no longer are required to service remote sites. The savings in employee time has been significant, Skilton said.
"The hybrid approach to ATMs by Altier Credit Union — owning and managing branch-located machines but outsourcing management of offsite locations — is a solution that clearly works for them," said Dolphin Debit President Ben Allen. "This is a case where we were able to relieve the biggest pain for a client and allow them to focus on their real mission, not on hassling with far-off ATMs."
