Dollar Bank puts its money on NCR

May 15, 2013

NCR Corp. and regional FI Dollar Bank are expanding their relationship. Beginning this summer, the bank will begin to replace 60 older ATMs from other manufacturers with advanced NCR SelfServ ATMs with Scalable Deposit Module.

Dollar Bank began working with NCR last summer when it became the first bank in the Pittsburgh region to install the company's video ATM, APTRA Interactive Teller, at selected branches.

"Prior to our rollout of our video ATMs, Dollar Bank had never worked with NCR," said Jim McQuade, senior vice president of retail banking at Dollar Bank. "But it quickly became clear to us that NCR shares Dollar's passion for finding innovative ways to deliver great customer service. Through NCR's advanced ATMs and the software that brings the customer experience to life, we are giving our customers more access to financial services in a modern and dynamic environment."

The NCR SelfServ ATM with SDM is the only technology in deployment that allows consumers to deposit both cash and checks simultaneously, through a single slot in any orientation. This technology makes ATM deposits faster and easier, and helps banks improve the customer experience, NCR said in a news release. In addition to the SDM units, Dollar also is replacing 10 older ATMs with traditional NCR SelfServ ATMs.

"We're pleased that we've been able to grow our relationship with such a well respected and forward thinking financial institution," said Adam Crighton, vice president and general manager of hardware at NCR Financial Services. "Dollar Bank customers will soon be able to enjoy state-of-the-art self-service banking that is fast and easy to use."

All Dollar Bank ATMs ultimately will run on NCR APTRA Edge software for multivendor ATM environments, the NCR release said.
