UL says its test tool has been qualified for qualifying Discover specifications, including D-PAS Issuer Response Simulation.

UL has announced that its Collis Brand Test Tool has been qualified by Discover for use in acquirer end-to-end testing of ATM and POS contact and contactless EMV terminals.
In order to process EMV transactions on the Discover Network, acquirers must execute the Discover D-Payment Application Specification acquirer end-to-end test cases. The Collis Brand Test Tool enables acquirers and terminal vendors to validate the testing of their EMV terminals (POS, ATM) for D-PAS.
According to a UL press release, the Collis Brand Test Tool is now qualified for certifying against the latest Discover specifications, including the D-PAS Issuer Response Simulation, which allows testers to complete Acquirer E2E testing with the Collis Brand Test Tool, without the need for external host simulation.
“UL continues to provide high quality test tools for the payment market," said Maxim Dyachenko, manager of service line test tools for the transaction security division at UL. "We are confident that our customers will benefit from this qualification as it will help them reduce the time to market, ease their device testing, and increase their confidence during the Discover implementation.”
The Collis Brand Test Tool is fully aligned with the test specifications of the seven major payment schemes worldwide, the UL release said. It provides full insight into the technical details of the communication between the card and the terminal on the one side and between the terminal and the network on the other side. This allows a tester to gain insight into the behavior of the system from end to end.
The Collis Brand Test Tool optimizes test execution via test automation, card simulation and appropriate authorization host behavior. TThe MyCollis service portal ensures that the tool is always up to date with the latest requirements and specifications from the payment schemes, the company said.
