Diebold signs with Verizon Business to offer network-implementation services

Diebold Inc. is now using Verizon Business' network-implementation services to provide comprehensive physical security solutions to its customers.
According to a news release from Diebold, Diebold will combine Verizon's Internet Protocol network and IT capabilities with its own integrated physical-security solutions for enhanced protection of businesses and government agencies.
As one of Diebold's strategic communications providers, Verizon Business' global IP network will connect hardware and software that powers Diebold's physical security solutions in select deployments. Diebold will then leverage the network to deliver its managed security services, such as alarm-monitoring, managed-access-control, remote-video-monitoring and network-monitoring. "Working with Verizon Business enables Diebold to offer its customers a managed security solution that includes hardware, software and network services all under one umbrella," said Bradley J. Stephenson, vice president of security solutions for Diebold. "Integrating Verizon Business' network into these solutions will provide an even better customer experience."
Applications like remote video monitoring and management require the transport of large data files in real-time. Remote diagnostics, DVR Health Check, energy management and other solutions all require secure access. A reliable network like Verizon Business provides secure transport of the data Diebold security experts need to monitor and manage, says Blair Crump, president of worldwide sales for Verizon Business.
