Diebold signs outsourcing agreement with bank in Colombia

January 17, 2011

Diebold Inc. today announced that it has signed a seven-year outsourcing contract with Colombia’s third-largest bank based on assets.

As part of the agreement, Diebold is installing 1,260 Opteva ATMs for Banco Davivienda, which has its headquarters in Colombia. Banco Davivienda’s ATM network consists of approximately 1,400 machines. Diebold is installing 100 new ATMs each month, said Orlando Duran, Banco Davivienda’s vice president of operations.

Diebold also will install Agilis software in Banco Davivienda’s ATMs. Diebold will provide remote management, maintenance services and security. The software will enable the bank to use the ATMs to conduct marketing campaigns and to poll bank customers, Duran added.

Diebold, which is based in North Canton, Ohio, is the world’s third-largest ATM manufacturer based on annual shipments.
