NORTH CANTON -- Diebold(NYSE: DBD - news) has signed a letter of intent with the Toshiba Corporation to be the exclusive provider of Toshiba currency sorting equipment and service in the U.S., other U.S. territories and the Bahamas.
"Diebold's solid position in the marketplace and its in-depth understanding of ATMs and other financial equipment, software and hardware integration, makes it an obvious choice to provide this product to our mutual customers,' said Shoichi Watanabe, senior manager of Electronics and Automation Systems at Toshiba.
Richard Baggot, general manager of Diebold's Electronic Security Group, said, "It further solidifies our commitment to serve banks, casinos and retailers who deal with currency sorting equipment, and moves us closer to being a single, complete source of security, transaction and currency handling products.'
