Diebold inks ATM order deal with China's BOC

June 10, 2003

BEIJING -- Diebold, Inc., announced it has signed an $8.5 million order with the Bank of Communications (BOC) for ATMs and bulk cash recycling machines (BCRMs).

According to a release, the BOC has deployed more than 140 newly purchased Diebold ix Series ATMs within its national self-service network.

The BOC also recently purchased more than 130 Diebold BCRMs for placement in July and August. The units accept 100 notes of bulk cash per transaction without an envelope and "recycles" deposited cash for ATM user withdrawals.

Additional features include cash withdrawals, account inquiries, funds transfer, full-motion video advertising and bill payment.

Diebold's BCRM also supports Windows/XFS architecture, and the terminal's small footprint and front-or-rear-load access allows for easy placement in compact spaces.
