Diebold expands services across First Horizon's ATM network

ATM manufacturer Diebold Nixdorf Inc. has expanded its services with Memphis-based First Horizon National Corporation, the parent company of First Tennessee Bank and Capital Bank.

A customer of Diebold Nixdorf’s for more than 30 years, First Horizon is renewing its hardware, services and software contract with the company, according to a company press release. 

"This continued partnership will help us consolidate management of our self-service network while keeping First Horizon ahead of the curve on the latest banking technology," Yousef Valine, chief operating and risk officer at First Horizon, said in the release.  

As part of the upgrade, First Horizon is deploying DN Vynamic Connection Points software for adding new features and functions to its ATMs.

Diebold Nixdorf will upgrade First Horizon's ATMs to the Windows 10 operating system to support PCI compliance. First Horizon will use DN AllConnect Services, which includes endpoint monitoring, hard drive encryption, access controls and inventory management.

First Horizon's entire fleet of ATMs, including more than 170 new Windows 10-enabled machines, will use Diebold Nixdorf's ActivEdge card reader. The device requires the card to be inserted long-edge first, which makes it impossible for skimmers to capture a card's information, according to the release.

Finally, Diebold Nixdorf will continue to provide maintenance for the company's ATM network as part of a renewed, five-year maintenance agreement.

"Diebold Nixdorf is thrilled to offer our expertise and market-leading solutions to oversee the transition of First Horizon's ATM fleet to the latest hardware and software," Octavio Marquez, Diebold Nixdorf's SVP and managing director of banking, Americas, said in the release.

The upgrades to First Horizon's self-service network are expected to be complete by the end of the year. The company has more than 250 locations throughout Tennessee.
