Cybercrook pleads guilty in Citibank ATM case

The Register:A cybercrook has admitted to using hacked ATM codes to steal from Citibank accounts. Aleksandar Aleksiev, 28, pleaded guilty last week, following his May 2008 arrest. Aleksiev was caught when he tried to withdraw money from ATMs already under surveillance. He is the fifth person to plead guilty to offenses linked to a computer hack that compromised an ATM processing server linked to Citibank-branded ATMs at 7-Eleven stores. An estimated $2 million was tied to the scam, with 70 percent of the profits going back to Russia.
