The Dominion Post: In three years, mobile phones will be used for everything from paying at the supermarket checkout to checking blood sugar levels, says one American mobile expert. And companies like Telecom and Vodafone will need to start looking at new partnerships and add-on functions if they want to stay in the game. In the future, mobile phones or electronic notebooks are expected to become "command and control" devices, facilitating everything from the ability to download and play movies, pay bills, pay at the supermarket checkout, and use a mobile instead of an ATM card.
