UL Laboratories has announced that the Collis brand test tool developed by the UL transaction security team is now integrated with the Visa chip compliance reporting tool, facilitating the automated uploading of test results to the Visa CCRT. Additionally, the Collis tool has obtained qualification for motorized readers.
Users may upload most test details to the Visa CCRT using an XML format, which is supported by the Collis BTT. Automated uploading to the Visa CCRT improves the administrative aspect of the test process considerably, UL said in a news release. The solution works for both contact and contactless ADVT testing.
The Collis Brand Test Tool also has been upgraded to work with programmable cards for motorized readers. As these readers have become smarter in detecting possible fraud, it has become increasingly difficult to get them to accept a wired probe during testing. The upgrade means that Collis Brand Test Tool is now qualified to be used in formal ADVT testing.
"UL continues to develop high quality test tools for the payment market by improving and expanding its Collis Test Tool portfolio," said Maxim Dyachenko, service line manager for test tools at UL transaction security.
"We have integrated our Collis Brand Test Tool into terminal testing processes from all schemes. Now, we made some steps with respect to Visa, and we are happy to offer better integration with their process, and also more convenience in testing any Visa-branded devices, including ATMs."
