DAYTON, Ohio - NCR Corp. has named Alan Chow as its chief technology officer.
Chow will oversee research and development for NCR's financial self-service, retail-store-automation and customer services divisions; he also will lead a cross-business-unit product-management team for NCR's self-service business.
"Alan's passion for technology and keen understanding of how to use it to distinct advantage has made him the clear choice for this new leadership position," said Bill Nuti, NCR president and chief executive. "In this new role, he'll build on our position of strength to drive further technological innovation across our self-service businesses."
Chow has more than 30 years of industry experience. He joined Teradata in 1981, which was purchased by NCR in 1992. Chow served as Teradata's vice president of research and development until 2005, when he was named vice president of NCR's payment solutions.
