Chinese woman files 19-cent suit over ATM fees

China Daily: A Shanghai woman has sued China Union Pay and three financial institutions - Bank of Communication, Industrial and Commercial Bank of China and Construction Bank - for charging inquiry fees, the Shanghai Morning Post reported last week. The woman is asking the four defendants to compensate her 1.5 yuan (U.S. 19 cents) for "unjust" inquiry fees. She reportedly noticed extra charges taken from her account for the inquiries she made June 14 at an ATM in a Bank of Communication sub-branch.
