Business News Americas: The Chilean unit of Spain's BBVA says it plans to double its ATM network to 400 machines over the next several months, thanks to an ATM placement deal with pharmacy chain Farmacias Ahumada. Beginning in 2008, BBVA customers are expected to have access to an increased number of self-service terminals, said Ignacio Lacasta, BBVA Chile's chief executive. Banks in Chile are increasingly turning to mass-channel distribution partners, such as pharmacy chains, retailers and supermarkets, to take advantage of potential financial synergies.
