SmartGuard, the fraud-prevention system from open system e-payment solutions provider BPC Banking Technologies, has been reviewed in the CEB TowerGroup "Card Fraud Management Systems Technology" report, the company recently announced. The report identifies and evaluates select card fraud management systems.
CEB selected vendors based on expert opinion, product maturity, size of installations and technological innovation.
BPC Banking Technologies senior research director Brian Riley said CEB analysts had observed successful operations in developing countries that use a full range of products from the the SmartVista suite and had found the core functionality to be strong.
SmartGuard, part of SmartVista suite — a single integrated solution for transaction processing and card management — is designed to stop the fraud before it affects customers. By matching transactions against a set of business-driven rules, suspicious transactions are rapidly detected and stopped.
The "channel-aware" software monitors transactions across all channels and can apply different rules and risk weightings to different channels.
