DALLAS - Financial services technology solutions provider CashWorks Inc. on Jan. 29 announced that a pair of Town & Country convenience stores in San Angelo, Texas, would be the first stores to utilize the company's PayPort check-cashing software.
PayPort employs a clerk-assisted POS terminal as the transaction authorization device. An ATM machine disburses the check's funds to the customer.
Founded in July of 2001, CashWorks president, Ken Rees, was chief operating officer and executive vice president of business development for electronic check-cashing provider InnoVentry Corp., which went out of business last September (See story: InnoVentry is out of business).
