Cashless society myth dispelled

Easier.com:The U.K. Post Office's Cash Nation survey reveals that the United Kingdom is still a nation of cash lovers. According to the survey, one person out of every 10 in the U.K. prefers to carry cash. Although the majority of shops now accept electronic payments, 83 percent of those surveyed like to carry cash at all times. "Our survey showed that easy access to cash is still important to us all," said Graham Halliday, the Post Office's banking and financial services director. The survey found that the ATM is the most popular place to withdraw money, with Londoners being the highest ATM users.
