Cardtronics, Tops Markets enter expanded, long-term ATM agreement

Cardtronics has announced the renewal of its ATM agreement with Tops Markets LLC, a full-service grocer in the northeastern U.S.

Under the terms of the new agreement, Cardtronics will serve as the sole non-bank ATM provider to the chain, which comprises 176 company-owned supermarkets and seven franchisee-owned locations. Tops previously self-managed the vast majority of the company's in-store ATMs, of which 18 were owned and operated by Cardtronics, according to a press release.

Per the agreement, 162 company-owned Tops Markets in New York, Pennsylvania and Vermont will be served by Cardtronics ATMs.

The long-term agreement extends and expands a relationship between the two companies that began in 2002, stated the release.

"Convenience is the first thing we promise to provide our customers, and Cardtronics is helping us ensure that our customers experience that convenience by giving them easy access to their cash," said Tops Markets Executive Vice President of Operations Ron Ferri. "Based on our numerous years of experience with Cardtronics, we are confident it can deliver the scale of services needed to cover essentially our entire enterprise."
