Cardtronics Inc. and Tedeschi Food Shops have broadened their business agreement with the appointment of the Houston-based IAD as exclusive ATM services provider for the Rockland, Mass.-based convenience store chain.
Under the new contract, Cardtronics will replace 130 ATMs operated by Tedeschi and a bank vendor with Cardtronics-owned and operated machines. The network will also be expanded with 56 new locations, for a total of 186 ATMs available.
The new agreement builds on a 9-year relationship during which Cardtronics has provided ATM processing services for Tedeschi, which operates 192 stores in Massachusetts and New Hampshire.
"We've elected to expand our relationship with Cardtronics and name them our exclusive ATM partner as a cost-effective way for us to manage the daily activity of our ATMs, as well as the cost of keeping a fleet up-to-date with compliance and other technology upgrades," said Bob Tedeschi, EVP and treasurer at Tedeschi Food Shops. "Building on the long-term relationship we've enjoyed with Cardtronics is a smart way to provide a great experience for our customers and capitalize on marketing capabilities we did not previously possess."
All locations will be served by the Cardtronics Allpoint surcharge-free network. The ATMs will also be part of the company's principle and preferred branding program for financial institutions.
"Tedeschi Food Shops has found that partnering with Cardtronics to offer easy access to cash in their stores is a great way to drive traffic and boost merchandise sale," said Rick Updyke, president of the North America business group at Cardtronics. "Deepening our relationship will help them enhance their customers' ATM experience in-store, while eliminating the need for them to keep up with maintenance and service concerns for those machines."
